As the sun was beginning to rise in the East on August 1, 2002, nearly 1000
beautiful little Stars were rising from their beds to participate in the
2002 Bobby Sox Softball
40th Anniversary Tournament of
Champions
Opening Day Ceremonies
held in the cities of La
Mirada and Pico Rivera, California.
The
girls and their Team Staffs led by their Managers lined up on the fields with great
anticipation. They came up to home plate and did their team cheer, dance or skit
with theatrical precision. Exuding class and character, each girl sported a smile
that outshined the morning sun.
They
came to the Opening Day Ceremonies winners.. ALL of them Champions in their own right.
They played with the Hearts of Champions and whether they left on Friday, Saturday
or Sunday, they showed us the true meaning of what being a "Champion" is all
about.
Be proud girls! You
were a great example of
Sportsmanship, Friendship, Citizenship and Leadership!
