
Thursday at 10:10am, Bobby Sox Softball lost a true friend!
Patrick O'Day, long time National Umpire in Chief and retired member of the National Staff
of Bobby Sox Softball passed away
in Laguna Hills, CA at the age of 82.
Pat joined the Bobby Sox Family in the early 70's participating with his daughters Lisa
and Erin in La Mirada Bobby Sox as Coach, Umpire and Board Member.
He quickly became part of the National Staff of Bobby Sox Softball. He was known as
"The Voice" of Bobby Sox because of his brilliant voice as he announced the
teams into the National All Star Tournaments.
Pat was also a consumate professional Disc Jockey at many different radio stations across
the United States.
He loved Bobby Sox Softball with all his heart and was always there to fight for what was
best for all of our girls....each and everyone of them! He dedicated the better part of
his life to enriching the lives of the people around him and to the Bobby Sox Softball
Program for girls. |
